Celebrate spring in Dubrovnik, Split and the island of Korčula! Revel in total cultural immersion and  special access experiences as you indulge in the Tasteful Croatian Journeys difference. Award winning Croatia specialist Wanda S. Radetti will lead you on a voyage that is elegantly interlaced with the threads of history, art and culture. You will travel along the stunning coastline of Dalmatia and savor the region’s distinct cuisine which combines the culinary traditions of the Mediterranean and Central Europe as well as its world class wines. Your hotel accommodations in Split will be in the heart of Roman Emperor Diocletian’s palace which represents the most valuable example of Roman architecture on the eastern coast of the Adriatic. While on the island Korčula, that claims to be the birth place of Marco Polo, your hotel accommodations will be inside an elegant converted bishop’s palace, ensconced in the walled city of Korčula where you will practice citizen diplomacy as you connect with the families of Korčula. You will join the families in the processions of spring that have been a Korčula cultural tradition for more than seven hundred years. When traveling from Korčula to Dubrovnik, along the dramatically beautiful wine region of the Pelješac Peninsula, you will be challenged to stroll on one of the longest walls of Europe, and savor the best, most succulent oysters of the Mediterranean as you cruise along the ancient oyster beds of Ston. When in Dubrovnik, the Pearl of the Adriatic, your hotel accommodations will be inside a 17th century baroque palace that overlooks the piazza that bears the name of Gundulić, one of the most revered poets of Croatia.

Tuesday, April 15 – Split: Welcome to Croatia! Arrival in Split, Croatia. Private chauffeur driven transfer to your hotel in Diocletian's Palace. Enjoy your day at leisure to relax or explore Split. In the evening join the group for a welcome aperitif and to meet your tour leader.
Wednesday, April 16 – Split: This morning, your professional guide will meet you for a two-hour private guided walking tour of Diocletian’s Palace in Split.  Use the afternoon to explore at your leisure the Palace and UNESCO World Heritage site. We gather in the evening to dine at the Konoba Varos, a short walking distance from hotel, to savor the flavors of Croatia the way the locals do. Breakfast and dinner included.
Thursday, April 17 – Split/Korčula: Morning at leisure in Split. In the afternoon, we transfer to the Port of Split to board the catamaran that will bring us to the Port of Korčula. After check in at the Lesic Dimitri Hotel, we will partake in a cocktail reception where we will meet our host families for the first time. The ultimate pleasure of the evening is our exclusively designed slow food experience at the LD Restaurant of the Lesic Dimitri Palace in Korčula. Breakfast and dinner included.

Friday, April 18 – Korčula: In the morning, accompanied by our private guide, we stroll along the cobbled street of Korčula as we explore the treasures of this medieval walled city during our private guided tour. When the clock signals lunch, we meet with our host families and join them at their homes to help prepare and enjoy the traditional Good Friday repast. In the evening, as extraordinary concession, we have been invited to visit the halls of the three Korčula confraternities as they members prepare and dress for the Holy Friday procession.  You will be provided maps to help identify Korčula’s locations that will offer the best possible viewing and photo opportunities of the processions. Breakfast and lunch included.
Saturday, April 19 – Korčula: Use the morning to relax and/or to join the locals as they make their rounds to visit the traditional sepulchers of the confraternity halls as well as the ones situated throughout the churches of the walled city. In the afternoon, we travel to Lumbarda where we will visit the Bire Winery for a wine tasting and for a light lunch of locally produces cheeses, air dried prosciutto, olives, and home baked bread.  After our time with Bire and his family, we enjoy a chauffeur driven overview of the points of interest of the Island of Korčula.  In the evening, we will dine in one of the “must go to” Konoba of Korčula where we will sample the food that is representative of traditional Holy Week and of the season. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.
Sunday, April 20 – Korčula: Easter Sunday. In the morning you can watch the processions that for the past 700 and more years have been part of the ritual that gathers all the citizens of Korčula, Church hierarchy, the elected official for the blessing of the all the town gates.  When the morning ceremonies conclude, we join our host families in their homes to help prepare and take pleasure in the feast at the dinner table that mark the celebration of Easter and of spring.  We reunite again in the evening at the Lesic Dimitri, our home in Korčula for an evening of wine tastings and light snacks as we enjoy the melodious sounds of the acapella singing of a local “Klapa.” Breakfast, lunch, wine tasting, and snack included.
Monday, April 21 – Korčula/Ston/Dubrovnik: After breakfast, we gather to say embrace and say Hvala andVidimo se to our host families and the staff that took care of us at the Lesic Dimitri Palace.  A brief walk along the seaside will bring us to the Port of Korčula for embarkation of the passenger ferry that crosses the Korčula Channel to the Port of Orebic on the Pelješac Peninsula. In Orebic, we will stop at the elegant Korta Katarina Winery for a tasting of some of the award winning wines that this American company has been producing for the past several years in Croatia.  As we continue forward towards our next destination, we will be driving along one of the most stunningly beautiful coast lines of the Adriatic Sea. We will stop along the way to absorb unforgettable panoramas of islands, vineyards and quaint villages that have been part of the dramatic landscape for millenniums.  Just at about lunch time we will be arriving in Mali Ston where a private boat will be waiting for us to take us on an excursion of the world famous oyster beds of Ston.  While on the boat we will be served freshly shucked oysters that have just been pulled up from the sea for our pleasure. We complete our visit in Ston with a sit down, family style late lunch at the Bota Sare Restaurant. In the very late afternoon, we arrive in Dubrovnik in time to bid goodnight to the sun as it dips in the Adriatic Sea. Your evening in Dubrovnik is for rest and pleasant leisure. Breakfast, wine tasting, oyster tasting, and lunch included.
Tuesday, April 22 – Dubrovnik: This morning our professional guide will meet us at our hotel for a private guided, walking tour of the walled city of Dubrovnik.  The rest of the day is yours for shopping, visiting museums, and/or spa experiences. Breakfast included.
Wednesday, April 23 – Dubrovnik: Today, the day is yours to do as you please. We suggest a visit to Lokrum Island, where HBO’s “Game of Thrones” is filmed, and/or the Dubrovnik Cable Car for breathtaking panoramic views of the City and the Riviera of Dubrovnik. In the evening we meet again at the Konoba Rozario, just a few minutes walks from our hotel, for our Farewell Dinner and to celebrate the moments that we have spent together in the discovery of a new destination, our new friendships, and our expansion of minds and hearts. Breakfast and dinner included.
Thursday, April 24 – Dubrovnik: Today is our moment to say goodbye and for Tasteful Croatian Journeys team to thank you and extend wishes for Happy and Safe Journeys. After breakfast, your private chauffeur will be ready to transfer you to the Dubrovnik Airport for your flight home. Breakfast included.
